Target Corporation

Owned Brands PLM

For the past 3 years, I have been leading UX design for a V1 enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system built from the ground up. This technology enables the design and development of all Target Owned Brands (42+ private labels).

“Target has also carved out a niche for itself in the world of big box retail by incubating cult brands in-house with a focus on design. Over the past three years, Target has launched more than 20 private-label lines (...) Six of Target’s owned lines now do more than $1 billion in annual sales.”
Fast Company, “Most Innovative Companies 2019”

Enterprise Design System

I was responsible for owning the UI specification and visual design in the successful launch and sustained release of an internally-built UI component library for the past 2 years.

Though the capability was originally built only for our product teams, its success in driving efficiency, scalability, and consistency across complex applications was recognized by leadership. In late 2019, it was officially approved by the CIO as the enterprise-wide design system and is currently being leveraged by numerous product teams and hundreds of engineers.

UX Career Guide

In partnership with a design principal, we delivered a 30-page booklet for our 100+ person UX & Accessibility organization to demystify career development and provide further tools and resources. My role included conducting discovery, writing content, designing visuals, and producing the digital and accessible career guide. This initiative was sponsored by all of our organization’s leaders and approved by our HR partners.
